hurricane haiku

i

Store-fronts boarded up.
Leaf-littered highway carless.
Watching the radar.

ii

Rustling against the
walls of our flimsy hovel:
mile-a-minute winds.

iii

A real night at last!
Man’s lights extinguished. Milky
moonglow ev’rywhere.
